A recently announced incentive for renewable energy by the UK government is the feed in tariff (or clean energy cashback scheme). The government will pay the owner of a photovoltaic system for producing their own energy. The price ste by the government for making your own electricity will be set above the market rate, fixed over 25 years. Photovoltaic systems will see an accelerated rate of return through the feed in tariff.
